Using dtrace, here is another SAN disk (of 4) of our zpool including the mail spool from a Cyrus IMAP server. I did a zoom on the first 2 TB of storage, where ZFS is very busy. The rest of 2 TB per storage disk is nearly not used. Here a whole week was monitored and converted to a movie. 5 minutes long green blinkenlights and red writing snakes. Enjoy!

zpool attach mypool disk1 disk2 ------ and this read/write pattern is the result. ----- It begins with Disk1 being the single disk, and at the end Disk 1 and Disk 2 are mirrored.

First: Better quality on http://southbrain.com/ ------
Red pixels mean write operations, green pixels mean read operations. One pixel represents approx 10700 blocks or 5,3 MB. The disks have 140GB each.
-----
Both hosts are running MySQL InnoDB databases and the application updates BOTH in the exact same manner (same INSERTs, SELECTs and UPDATEs).
------
The ZFS host does a "DELETE ..... WHERE ..." at 22:30 (10:30pm), the UFS host does that at 01:30am. Approx 3 million columns are deleted by these operations per database.
