ANOTHER WORLD: Frankie Dies (Stalker Storyline) Pt. 21 The firing of AW alumni Alice Barrett was a sad and devastating blow to the fans of "Another World" for it set in motion the decision to kill off the character that she had portrayed for seven years: the beloved Frankie Frame. Though brilliantly performed, the storyline is infamous for the controversy it sparked among the show's fans and the soap's executives as well as for the grisly violent way in which the character was murdered. The show never recovered from the loss of Frankie who, in many ways, represented the heart of the show. In Part 21, Frankie's memorial service ends. Cass thanks all for attending and for showing their appreciation of how good Frankie was. He urges all to attend that night's fundraiser for the opening of the new trauma unit. He states Frankie wouldn't want anyone staying away on her account and neither does he. He assures them that he and Charlie will still need everyone. Morgan tells Gabe that he found Fax's resume in Rita Madison's office and hopes to uncover some falsehoods. He also gives Josie a tape of Fax's voice. She leaves with the tape to play it for Ozzie, an eye witness to one of the murders, so that he can hopefully identify Fax as the killer. Nick and Maggie offer pleasantries to Cass as does Rachel, who apologizes for Carl's absence. Cass asks her if she still misses Mac. She responds yes. She assures him the loss gets easier and more manageable somehow. She tells him she's lucky to have found love again as well and that each new love is so unique. She begins to tell him that one of these days the same will happen for him but realizes that she's jumping the gun and merely tells him "it's too soon." Felicia invites Charlie and Cass over for dinner that night and he turns her down, stating he needs to face being alone at some point and that there's something he needs to do later when he's alone. Bobby Reno is captivated by how Vicky is dressed. She plans to attend the fundraiser for the new trauma unit, even though her heart is not in it. Bobby tells her it's for a good cause. Joe interrupts Gabe and Lorna with a forensics report on Fax's car. Chris Madison is trying to gather info from Ozzie on an article for the paper about the stalker when Josie comes in with the tape, urging him to listen to it.
