Some time ago, a news station named Magic News 5 ended up dying a nasty death. What you are watching is a chronicle of their final days. Okay, it's not real. This is a documentary I had to make while we were learning about news ownership and the roles and responsibilities of various people within the media industry (one particular requirement was that we cover the role of a commissioning editor... seriously, if none were mentioned, it meant an automatic fail). Therefore, this may seem a) kind of educational and b) a bit presumptuous of what you already know c) generally weird, because it's supposed to pass Magic News 5 off as a real news program in the "fiction as fact" style. Filming did not go very well due to time issues and having trouble organising around when everyone else was working, and when it became apparent that making this into a serious documentary wouldn't work, I wrote some narration and sent it up into a complete piss take. And yes, the name of the fictional...

Me singing another poem I wrote...made up tune as I went...and that's how it is. Catalog my mind and tally my thought, for all excavation will uncover naught. The places where once my heart did lie are now but sallow graves. Sordid groves of silent trees and statues lined with elegies; all are filled with empty-still and, in the darkness unseen, a fetid shroud with stitched seams stirs, and writhes, and riles in dream.

Ultimately, Saunders finds himself questioning everything including who he has become as he is forced to face the Truth with one final, life-or-death decision.
