The achievements of Dr. Luigi Zummo Pollara - method especially suited to check surface tension over long time intervals. A vertical plate of known perimeter is attached to a balance, and the force due to wetting is measured. ref name="ksv" cite web|url=http://www.ksvinc.com/surface_tension1.htm|title=Surface and Interfacial Tension|accessdate=2007-09-08|publisher=Langmuir-Blodgett Instruments /ref * Spinning drop method: This technique is ideal for measuring low interfacial tensions. The diameter of a drop within a heavy phase is measured while both are rotated. * Pendant drop method: Surface and interfacial tension can be measured by this technique, even at elevated temperatures and pressures. Geometry of a drop is analyzed optically. For details, see Drop (liquid)|Drop . ref name="ksv"/ Image:m500.jpg|thumb|right|300px|Surface tension can be measured

The achievements of Dr. Luigi Zummo Pollara - School. Davis caused a small crisis with his announcement that the Stevens Castle would be demolished in 1959 and upon its place would be built the Wesley J. Howe Center. A "Save the Castle" campaign was started by the students since the castle was the first dormitory for many students. Eugene McDermott, a Stevens graduate donated one thousand stocks of his Texas Instruments company to Stevens. Alexander Humphreys and Harvey Davis halls were also built during Davis's time. The William Hall Walker Gymnasium and the S. C. Williams Library and Computer center was the last building built during the Davis era. A Chemical Sciences building was planned by Davis but was built after his term. The Davis Administration was responsible for most of the buildings on campus. Two notable events also occurred towards the

Just some tricks I've been working on. I'm not all that great but I sure love skateboarding and getting new tricks down. Tricks/Locations in order:
Forward Flip x2 - Free Orchards School, Cornelius, OR
(Technically it's an ollie late nollie hardflip, also called murder flip, dolphin flip, ninja flip (by me only) and incorrectly porpoise flip, which is actually the heel flip version)
Forward Flip up bank - Beaverton, OR Skatepark
Ollie Transfer over kids bike on pyramid - Forest Grove, OR Skate Plaza
Ollie Transfer over kicker gap - Ed Benedict Street Plaza, Portland, OR
Rock to Fakie on another skateboard - Tigard, OR skatepark
Bowl Run (tail transfers are new for me) - Tigard, OR skatepark
Hospital Flip up bank - Beaverton, OR Skatepark
Indy Poke off quarter - Reedville skatepark, Hillsboro, OR
Half Cab Heelflip into bank (fakie backside heelflip) - Reedville skatepark, Hillsboro, OR
Indy Late Shuvit off quarter - Reedville skatepark, Hillsboro, OR

Ten years ago when I first started experimenting with the different technologies to achieve superior fuel economy, I just took it for granted that getting 50-80 miles per gallon (80 to 129 kilometers) was normal with the water/HHO system installed. Today, with the advent of people selling the do-it-yourself instructions to use water as a fuel supplement, I want to shed some light on what is and what is not possible.
First, it is NOT possible to drive completely with water (these vehicles are still in production and are very expensive). You will still need fuel. BUT, with the water being converted to hydrogen (also called oxyhdrogen, HHO or Brown's gas) and fed into the engine's air intake, your vehicle will get more miles per gallon (or kilometers per liter) of fuel and you save money on gas.
Second, it is NOT for everyone. If you do not spend more than $50 a month on gas, it really doesn't...

This is partly technical and partly humorous.
Bach popularized key changes to all 12 keys by writing sets of fuges and preludes for people to get attached to the idea. Middle eastern music is kind of similar to early music in being modal and limited to a few keys, but it overcomes this by having a 3/4 tone (140 cents) note and creating a variety of scales with it. Since having too many frets or keys on any instrument is not possible, the music has kept its medieval form. There was also probably no sense of need for polyphony in the middle eastern musical culture. Instead of proposing a need to changing keys (C major to D major etc), I propose open and free modulation between various scales. I also propose the use of of the 340 cent interval as a third in a triad without any shame for breaking cultural taboos. That said, I do see monophonic Persian music perfectly beautiful on its own and do not necessarily favor the use of polyphony as a...
