Our agents find the best fighters that can meet such a challenge and pit them against each other. The only reward for the fighters is to live for another day. Our Agents control every aspect of their lives. They are responsible for the training, education, strategy and health of the fighter. Most of the fighters arrive here against their will, but soon accept their fate. Of course there are some that will never accept it, and they are sent to the graveyard before their time. Opponents change, rules change, sometimes weapons enter the battle. The fighter never knows what to expect. That makes life interesting and challenging. This is a design example of a simple Buck DC-DC converter. In this example we will calculate the required inductor and output capacitor specifications. We will then determine the input capacitor, diode, and MOSFET characteristics. With the selected components, we will calculate the system efficiency and then compare an asynchronous buck converter to a synchronous buck converter.
