Oliver, an orphaned, anthropomorphized dog in Victorian-era England, searches for his mother. To accomplish his goal, he must first make his escape from the evil custodian of the orphanage and the custodian's two accomplices, Scratch and Sniff. Luckily, Oliver can rely on the help of his friends, Dodger (a rabbit) and Charlie (a pig), along with Fagan (a fox), Nancy (a cat). A little section of the animated series Saban's Adventures of Oliver Twist based very loosely on Charles Dickens classic with anthropomorphic beings with humans. In the series it turns out that Oliver is not really an orphan. He has a mother but has been separated from her and later sent to the workhouse. In an interesting take, unlike his literary counterpart, the character Fagin (as a fox) is portrayed as a good guy and not a thief teaching younger thieves, or so it seems. Bad Dog is a short-lived animated cartoon that aired on ABC and Teletoon during 1998. The cartoon focuses on the Potanski family and their dog Berkeley. The show's gimmick was that whenever Berkeley was told that he was a bad dog, he would freeze and pretend to be dead until someone told him he was a good dog. This would happen every episode. Bad Dog received extremely poor ratings. In spite of this, Fox Family reran Bad Dog briefly in 1999. It is unknown whether or not the show was inspired by the popular After Dark screensaver Bad Dog. The two dogs have a similar appearance, and the "Bad Dog" of the show is named Berkeley, a possible reference to Berkeley Systems, the creators of After Dark.

2 Stupid Dogs is an American animated television series created by Donovan Cook and produced by Hanna-Barbera Cartoons that originally ran from 11 September 1993 to 21 January 1995 on TBS Superstation. The main segments of the show featured two dogs, "Big Dog" and "Little Dog." The big dog was voiced by Brad Garrett, and the little dog was voiced by Mark Schiff. A backup segment, a remake of Hanna-Barbera's Secret Squirrel (entitled Super Secret Secret Squirrel), was shown in between the main "2 Stupid Dogs" cartoons in each episode, similarly to early Hanna-Barbera cartoons in the 1960s.
