Badawi cited statistics indicating how urgent the condition of Palestinians has become after the 1.5 year siege and recent invasion by Israel. The U.N. labeled the Gaza humanitarian crisis a critical situation, claiming that the Israeli cease-fire breaks are not long enough. The Red Cross accused Israel of impeding rescue workers with dirt roadblocks and refusing to grant the Red Cross access to people in need.
