Johnny Herron was born in Gilbert Louisiana, Johnny Herron moved to Pontiac Mich, when he was 4 years old. He started school at Bagley Elementry School through the second grade his family moved to the South Side of Pontiac and Johnny attend Whittier Elementry School from 3rd through thr 5th grade. He attended Jefferson Jr.High and from there he attended Pontiac Central High School, Pontiac Business Institute, Oakland University and The University of Phoneix. Johnny was inspired to play the Piano when his Dad and uncle took him to see a young kid by the name of "Frank Sugar Chile Robinson" when he was 7 years old. Johnny begin taking Piano lessions under the guidance of Mrs. Reitta Bonner. Johnny was lead singer for the group named the Pontiac Premiers

In August 2006, George W. Bush visited the Ninth Ward in New Orleans, to oversee reconstruction efforts. It made a great photo-op for the troubled president. J.D. Hill was just working in his brand-new home when the president stopped by. He talks about it in this short video we shot at his house in the Musician's Village in New Orleans.

"When the Saints Go Marching In," so well-known that it is often referred to as "The Saints," is a United States gospel hymn that has taken on certain aspects of folk music. Though it originated as a spiritual, today people are more likely to hear it played by a jazz band. A traditional use of the song is as a funeral march. In the funeral music tradition of New Orleans, Louisiana, often called the "jazz funeral," while accompanying the coffin to the cemetery, a band would play the tune as a dirge. On the way back from the interment, it would switch to the familiar upbeat "hot" or "Dixieland" style. While the tune is still heard as a slow spiritual number on rare occasions, from the mid-20th century it has been massively more common as a "hot" number. The number remains particularly associated with the city of New Orleans, to the extent that New Orleans' professional football team was named the New Orleans Saints, after the song.
